Uttar Pradesh government has constituted to look into the demands

Uttar Pradesh government has constituted a high-level committee headed by chief secretary to look into the demands and problems of employees, Chief Minister Mayawati said on Sunday.

"To consider demands and problems of government employees
a high-level committed headed by the chief secretary has been constituted, which will have principal secretaries of personnel and finance and divisional commissioner Lucknow as its members," Mayawati said in a statement issued here.

Welcoming the Karamchari Shikshak Sanyukt Morcha’s decision to call off its strike, the chief minister said the government was sensitive towards the feelings of employees and was committed to resolving their problems.

The employees had yesterday called off their indefinite strike to protest a police baton charge, after a meeting with Additional Cabinet Secretary Vijay Shanker Pandey.

"Despite having limited resources the state government implemented the recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission, which created an additional burden of 21,000 crore on the exchequre, only in the interest of the employees," Mayawati said.

Mayawati asked the employees to consider the financial resources of the state while raising their demands.

Apparently referring to the incident where the District Magistrate Lucknow slapped an employee, Mayawati said, "Officers should resolve a situation patiently."
